Margaret Shartle White passed away on April 9, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, son, two daughters, sister, two brothers, five grandchildren and many, many friends.

She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 8, 1950 but spent many years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After graduating from Woodlawn High School she attended Louisiana State University where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.

In August 1970 she married Kenny White at University Presbyterian Church on the LSU campus and began her life as devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

After living in New Jersey, Louisiana, and California, in 1976 the family moved to Kingwood, Texas where she lived until her death. While in Kingwood she was a faithful member of Kingwood United Methodist Church. She was active in her Church and the community and was named a Woman of Achievement in 2001. Among her many accomplishments were: Director of the Society of St. Stephens, President of her P.E.O. Chapter, a Sunday School teacher for over 25 years, Stephen Minister leader, and many other voluntary positions.

Her life can be summarized in her own words: "I know my purpose, it is to help others and do it lovingly without resentment."

The family is asking that anyone wishing to make a donation in her memory can do so to: Society of St. Stephens, 1799 Woodland Hills Dr., Kingwood, Texas 77339.
