Margie Miller, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at a local care center. She was a native of Plum Bayou, Arkansas and was a resident of Westlake. Margie was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church. She loved her family and God and always kept her family together. Margie never met a stranger; she really enjoyed quilting, needle work and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. In her spare time she was an avid Pokeno player and was adventurous and loved to travel. Margie Miller, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at a local care center.
She was a native of Plum Bayou, Arkansas and was a resident of Westlake. Margie was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church. She loved her family and God and always kept her family together. Margie never met a stranger; she really enjoyed quilting, needle work and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. In her spare time she was an avid Pokeno player and was adventurous and loved to travel. Survivors include three sons, Bo Miller and wife Jennifer, Wayne Miller and wife Connie all of Sulphur and Kenneth Miller and wife Jimmie Sue of Westlake; two daughters, Sue Doolittle and husband Mike of New Orleans and Kathy Miller and her fiance Jason Bowley of Burleson, TX; nine grandchildren, Paula Comeaux and husband Daren of Lake Charles, Jennifer Fontenot and husband Donnie of Lake Charles, Carrie Scidmore and husband Keith of Brunswick, ME, Michael Doolittle of Waikoloa, HI, Matthew Doolittle of Baton Rouge, Cody Miller of Lake Charles, G. J. Cormier III and wife Tiffany of Joshua, TX, Mandy Cormier of Joshua, TX and Bryant Cormier of Kingwood, TX; and six great grandchildren, Landen, Layken, Palynn, Austin, Noah and Easton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Miller; her parents, Robert and Martha Lucas; and her twin sisters, Mary and Maddie.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2pm Friday, May 9, 2014, in St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Father Albert Borel will officiate. Burial will be at Westlake Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 4pm to 8pm with a rosary at 6pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake and will resume Friday from 8am until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Daren Comeaux, Bill Spann, Jared Cryer, G.J. Cormier III, Jason Bowley and Matthew Doolittle. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
