MARGUERITE H. CRAMMOND Marguerite (Peggy) H. Crammond, 91, a resident of Alexandria, Virginia since 1978, died November 4 of natural causes. She was born in Alliance, Ohio and grew up in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Aristide Chambrey and Pearl Miller Chambrey and was predeceased by her brother Raymond Chambrey and two husbands: John J. Fitzgerald, Jr. and James D. Crammond. She graduated from Penn State University with a degree in journalism and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She was a licensed airplane pilot. She married John J. Marguerite (Peggy) H. Crammond, 91, a resident of Alexandria, Virginia since 1978, died November 4 of natural causes. She was born in Alliance, Ohio and grew up in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Aristide Chambrey and Pearl Miller Chambrey and was predeceased by her brother Raymond Chambrey and two husbands: John J. Fitzgerald, Jr. and James D. Crammond.

She graduated from Penn State University with a degree in journalism and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She was a licensed airplane pilot. She married John J. Fitzgerald, Jr. and lived in Madison, NJ, eventually moving to Greenwich, CT where they lived for 20 years. Following the death of her husband, she married a second time to James D. Crammond and settled with him in the Mount Vernon area of Alexandria.

She began her career as a newspaper reporter for the Williamsport Gazette in Pennsylvania, became a public relations specialist for the General Electric Company in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and retired as a real estate broker in Greenwich, Connecticut. She spent many years as a homemaker and was an avid gardener. She took great satisfaction from beautifying her surroundings and enjoying the fruits of her labor with family and friends. She was a founding member of the Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich, CT and was a member of the Mount Vernon Country Club in Alexandria where she was a member of the ladies 18 hole golf league and a member of the bridge group.

Marguerite is survived by a son, Brian Fitzgerald, his wife Christine and their two children, Colleen and David, all of Cheshire, CT; and a daughter, Diane Fitzgerald and her husband Joseph Riccobono of Alexandria, VA.

The family is planning a memorial service at Saint Michael's Church in Greenwich, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , or a charity of your choice .
