I am a colleague of Raquel's at the Supreme Court and I wish to express my most sincere condolences in the loss of her mom. I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts, Raquel and I wish your daughter would have had an opportunity to have her grandmother in her life longer than she was. I know that the time they did spend together you will cherish always.

As we come to be we come to see where we are and what we are. I was your boy and then became the man you saw in front of you. As your son I promised you one thing, a dance that never came to be. But I promise you this mama dearest. I grew into the man you wanted me to become. And I will make you proud as your only son. I will show the world what you created and what you showed me to be. As you will see the day will come for me to join you in the eternal dance of mother and son. I will always love and cherish our memories mama dearest. And I will always be the Alejandro you told me to be. R.I.P. mother of mine. As your son will now show the world why you brought me to life.
Love Always and Forever your loving son Alejandro Andreu

How blessed we were to have known Maria through her talents as a stylist. My mother was partially blind, and Maria was so patient and accommodating to her whenever she styled her hair. We will always miss her talent and kindness.

My Tia Mere, was a beautiful & classy lady. Always held herself in an utmost respectful manner. She was always full of energy and on the go. Her time was always utilized to better herself and others. Quite the social butterfly. Visiting and making time for those she loved & cared for. Some of my fondest memories with my Tia is when I was a little girl. She used to teach me how to play tennis. Of course I was awful but we had fun just trying. I remember she would put the music on and she would teach me how to dance cumbia's in the living room. That was a blast! Thanks to my Tia I can do a little baile. When I was 6 she bought me my first knee high black boots. I loved those boots so much, I wanted to wear them all the time. One Christmas there was a giant box in the living room & I wasn't told it was mine until Christmas day. My Tia Mere, had bought me my first burgundy big girl bike! I was free at last, free at last. I was on my bike as often as the days were long. She gave me little pieces of herself along the way & I am blessed today because of it. She touched & blessed many lives. I'm just glad I was a part of hers. I love you my Tia. I know you're smiling right now that beautiful smile with Papa Jesus.

Maria was not only my mother in law she was my second mother. I have so many beautiful memories with her and lessons that she taught me throughout the years. She left a lasting impression in my heart and mind with the goodness, laughter, and passion she had to help others. She made no excuses and fought for what she believed in. She was courageous through the season of being still while being trapped in her body. Yet, she always had a smile and made the best out of life. You will always live in our hearts and the many teachings you gave us. You are now ALS free! Always your Pee-Wee, Son in law- Danny Lazcano

Raquel and Angie, if there is anything that can be said about your beautiful mother, it is that she raised two amazing daughters. The spirit of your mother is in each of you: you value family above everything, your love and charity to others is untouched and both of you have an unmatched strength and focus to whatever may come your way. I always enjoyed hearing stories about your mother, especially during your teenage years! Maria's presence will be felt by all by your laughs and smiles. I am so blessed to have known your mother and to call each of you friend. I am praying for you and will always be here when needed.

Mamita linda, no words can express how blessed we were to call you Mom. We know Jesus welcome you home saying "well done faithful daughter". Although we may not truly understand the circumstances you had to face-as you would say trust in the lord and not lean on our own understanding. Thank you for everything you had taught me, and all the fun memories we shared. You made everything beautiful and had a great sense of humor. I loved all your cute dance moves, and will miss smelling all your good hair products you would wear. You will forever be a warrior to me, thank you for fighting the good fight Mamita. We are forever proud of you. LOVE YOU LOVE YOU LOVE YOU!!!!!!! Yours, Raquelita
