Maria Micaela "Mickie" Acevedo was born on December 22, 1933 in Zuehl, Texas and went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2013.
Mickie is survived by Rudy Acevedo, Sr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Delia and Ralph Cervantes; her son and daughter-in-law, Rudy and Jill Acevedo, Jr.; her granddaughters, Amanda Cervantes and Regina Ruiz; one great-grandson, Dominic Ruiz; her sister and brother-in-law, Tere and Henry Arizpe; her sister, Elena Lincon; her sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Frank Perez; and numerous nieces, nephews and their children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Rosa Valdez; her sisters, Minerva De Leon and Juanita Palomo; and her brother, David Valdez.
Mickie's family is very grateful for the services provided to her by all the staff at The Haven at Stone Oak and the staff from Heartland Hospice Services. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association – Mickie Acevedo Memorial Fund at http://act.alz.org/goto/mickieacevedo.
Visitation services will be held Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas. The funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, May 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels, Texas. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Following the burial, there will be a reception, finger food and refreshments in the Saint Mary's Hall at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
