Maria "Emma" Bustillos, of Taft, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at the age of 69. She was born on August 15, 1941, in Mirando City, Texas, to Pedro and Julia Nieto, Sr. Emma was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and being with her family. Her memory will be cherished forever.
Emma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Inocencio G. Bustillos and three brothers, Margarito, Cayetano and Alfonso Nieto.
She is survived by two sons, Herman (Alma) Bustillos of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Inocencio (Aurelia) Bustillos, Jr. of Taft; three daughters: Thelma (Rosendo) Marroquin , Sandy (George) Luera both of Taft, and Melissa Bustillos of Rockport, Texas; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; four brothers: Abelardo (Cleo) Nieto of Sinton, Texas, George (Norma) Nieto , Pedro (Oralia) Nieto, Jr. and Reynaldo (Rosa) Nieto all of Taft; one sister, Maria (Pedro) Solis of Gregory, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Sylvia and Nilda Nieto both of Taft; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 27, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 28, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Jesus Francisco Lopez officiating. Burial will follow at Taft Memorial Park.
