Maria Katherine (Pilecki) Kobelski, age 81, of Oakdale, passed away on December 20, 2009. She was born in Montville, CT on April 2, 1928 to the late John Joseph and Helena B. (Kokol) Pilecki. She was married to her loving husband Alfred Kobelski on November 22, 1947. Maria's life was all about her family. She enjoyed traveling and camping. Her hobbies included bowling and knitting. She graduated high school from Chapman Tec. Maria worked for many years as the Tax Assessor for the Town of Montville. She later went on to work for Wal-Mart. She was a member of the Chesterfield Ladies Auxiliary and a communicant at St. John's Parish...

Maria's life was all about her family. She enjoyed traveling and camping. Her hobbies included bowling and knitting. She graduated high school from Chapman Tec. Besides her husband Alfred Kobelski of Oakdale, she leaves behind a son Walter Kobelski and his wife Sandra of Winchester, NH, a son Richard Kobelski and his wife Connie of Richland, WA., a son Robert Kobelski and his wife Gayle of Bozrah, grandchildren Melissa Irvine of Baker City, OR., Amy Clements of Richland, WA., Edward Kobelski of Ellington, Michael Kobelski of Richland, WA., Adam Kobelski of Bozeman, MT., Gary Kobelski of Waterbury, Jason Kobelski of East Hartford, Matthew Kobelski of East Hartford and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Wanda Derochick, a sister Stefania Kobelski, a brother Joseph Pilecki Sr. and a brother John Pilecki Jr. Maria is predeceased by a son Alfred Kobelski Jr., a grandson Walter Kobelski Jr., a granddaughter Katie Kobelski., a brother Francis Pilecki, a brother Boleslaw Pilecki, a brother Karol Pilecki and a sister Geneviva Kowalweski.
Family and friends may visit the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, Route 32, Montville TODAY from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Church, Maple Ave., Uncasville. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Uncasville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Connecticut VNA, 339 Flanders Road , Suite 215 East Lyme, CT 06333, the Hospice of Southeastern CT, 227 Dunham Street, Norwich, CT 06360 or to the Chesterfield Fire Company, 1606 Route 85, Oakdale, CT 06370.
