Marian Barbour Voelker, age 90, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at
Bickford Memory Care Center in Peoria.

She was born, September 5, 1922 in Peoria, IL. to Dr. Orville and Charlotte
(McKinney) Barbour. She met the love of her life, William J. Voelker II while
attending the University of Wisconsin, Madison. They were married March 7,
1941. He passed away, September 4, 1993.

In her younger years, Marian was active in the First Methodist Church,
Peoria. She assisted her mother with the Christmas Tree Lane bazaar for many
years. Marian was also active in P.E.O. She was devoted to her family. Her greatest pleasures came
from traveling with Bill, reading, sewing and making quilts. She was an accomplished knitter. It
was a treasure to receive one of her beautiful sweaters. In later years, as memory
faded, she still was making knit socks and mittens. She loved cooking and treasured
spending time in Door County with her family.

She is survived by her children, William J. (Kathey) Voelker III, Champaign,
IL., Stephen (Jenice) Voelker, Hazelhurst, WI., Robert (Patricia) Voelker,
Lincoln, NE., Mary (Dr. Patrick) Welle, Fargo, N.D., James (Kelly) Voelker,
Peoria,IL. Her grandchildren are, Daniel (Julie) Voelker, Winnetka, IL., Maxwell (Tara)
Voelker, Boston, MA., Kimberly Voelker, St. Louis, MO., Stephennie (Matt Deistler) Gerondale, and Wade (Kelly) Voelker, Ft. Atkinson, WI., Rob (Dr. Kate) Voelker, Manhattan, KS., Ben (Deenaree) Voelker, Madison, N.J., Kait (John) Bergman, Ft. Benning, GA., Liz (Brian) Bratichak, Overland Park,
KS., Sam Voelker and Will Voelker, Lincoln, NE. Jennifer (Brandon) Small,
Minneappolis, MN. James (Sarah) Welle, Longmont, CO., Zach Welle Fargo,
ND, Dr. Molly Welle Whitefish MT, Dr. Emily Welle (Jack) Baden Fargo, ND .
.Stephen Welle, Fargo, ND, Jim (Nikki) Voelker, Metamora, IL., Nick,
Teddy, Mary, Lily, and Danny Voelker, all of Peoria.

Her great grand children are, Andrew, Heidi, and Ashley Voelker, Michael and
Rachael Gerondale, Dan, Tim,and Joey Voelker, Isaac Welle, Henry and William
Small, Lydia Baden, Alistair Voelker, and Jocelyn and Adrian Voelker. She is
also survived by several neices and nephews.

Marian is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill, and her sons,
Daniel and Mark. Also preceding her are all her sisters, Sarah Barbour, Charlotte
Barbour Detter and Kay Barbour Batz.

Our family very much appreciates the gentle care given to Marian by the
Bickford Memory Care Center, as well as OSF Hospice. You made the journey
much easier for Marian and all of us.

Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services will be Saturday, February
2, at 11:00, at the First United Methodist Church, 116 NE Perry Ave., Peoria,
IL. The visitation will be one hour before the services. Burial will be in
Springdale Cemetery, Peoria.

Memorials may be made in Marian's name to the Alzheimer's Association or to the donor's choice.

We have wonderful memories of Grandma's happy laugh and all of the fun family times in Door County and Peoria. She was always a loving and caring Grandma to me. She is missed. Dan (and Julie, Andy, Heidi, Ashley)
