Marie Yolanda Amaya October 20, 1924 -March 30, 2014 Resident of Redwood City Marie Yolanda Amaya passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Redwood City, CA. She was 89. Born on October 20, 1924 in San Francisco, CA to the late Antonio Micali and Cecilia Biscotti, Marie graduated from Sequoia High School in 1945, she married the late Alfred Augustine Amaya in 1951 and they lived in Menlo Park. She moved to Redwood City in 1994. Marie worked for Pacific Bell, Sequoia Hospital, Redwood Medical Clinic and Watkins Johnson until she retired in 1989. Marie Yolanda Amaya October 20, 1924 -March 30, 2014 Resident of Redwood City Marie Yolanda Amaya passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Redwood City, CA. She was 89. Born on October 20, 1924 in San Francisco, CA to the late Antonio Micali and Cecilia Biscotti, Marie graduated from Sequoia High School in 1945, she married the late Alfred Augustine Amaya in 1951 and they lived in Menlo Park. She moved to Redwood City in 1994. Marie worked for Pacific Bell, Sequoia Hospital, Redwood Medical Clinic and Watkins Johnson until she retired in 1989. Marie was an active member of St. Pius Church, Past President and Recording Secretary of the Native Daughters of the Golden West Bonita Parlor No. 10. She volunteered hundreds of hours annually at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center, Historical Union Cemetery, American Legion Post 105, Lathrop House, Sequoia High School Alumni Association, History Museum, AARP746 and Fun After 50. The Native Daughters of the Golden West Bonita Parlor No. 10 recognized Marie in 1994 for her service and generosity to the many people in the community by planting a Redwood Tree in her honor for Arbor Day. Marie is survived by two children; Lynn Marie Amaya of Blue Springs, MO and Robert Paul Amaya of Redwood City, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to the Madeline B. Wallace Scholarship Fund (MBW Scholarship) benefiting the Native Daughters of the Golden West, 833 Clinton Street, Redwood City, CA 94061 in memory of Marie Amaya. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 6pm to 9pm with Vigil at 7pm at Redwood Chapel, 847 Woodside Road, Redwood City, CA 94061. A Funeral Mass on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 10am at St. Pius Catholic Church, 1100 Woodside Road, Redwood City, CA 94061 with Graveside Service to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos, CA.
