Marie (Pfaffenzeller) Bouley, 87, of Fairhaven died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in Alden Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Ernest Bouley.

Born in Malden, a daughter of the late Henry and Josephine (Grimshaw) Pfaffenzeller she spent her early life in New Bedford and had been a Fairhaven resident since 1956.

Mrs. Bouley graduated from Holy Family High School and later worked as a bookkeeper for Marine Services. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Fairhaven. She loved knitting, gardening, and traveling with her sisters. She was very active in the St. Joseph Church Community, and volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital and the soup kitchen in New Bedford. Mrs. Bouley was very involved with all her grandchildren's activities.

She is survived by two daughters, Margaret "Peg" Duffy of Bristol, PA and Kathy Sturtevant and her husband Bruce of Fairhaven; two sons, Robert E. Bouley and his wife Susan of Dartmouth and Philip H. Bouley and his wife Carolyn of Mattapoisett; one sister, Irene Gray of Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Claire Wallace and Grace Macomber.

Her funeral will be Fri. June 17, 2011 at 10AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven followed by a funeral mass at 11AM in St. Joseph's Church, 74 Spring St. Fairhaven. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in New Bedford. Calling hours Thurs. 4-8PM.
