Obituary

GIROUX, Marie Antoinette (Toady) (Retired Employee of General Motors of Canada) Peacefully, after a brief illness, at Hillsdale Terraces on Saturday, August 30th, 2014. Toady, along with her three sisters, Katie, Peggy and Dot and brother-in-law Frank raised two nephews whom predeceased her, Archbishop Anthony Meagher and Butch Mann. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving sibling of eleven. A special thank you to Katherine Quinlan for her friendship, support and love for our family. Peacefully, after a brief illness, at Hillsdale Terraces on Saturday, August 30th, 2014. Toady, along with her three sisters, Katie, Peggy and Dot and brother-in-law Frank raised two nephews whom predeceased her, Archbishop Anthony Meagher and Butch Mann. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving sibling of eleven. A special thank you to Katherine Quinlan for her friendship, support and love for our family. Many thanks to the staff of Hillsdale Terraces and Home Instead for their care and support. She will be fondly remembered by her family for her expert sock knitting, love for golf and her Sunday night suppers. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Wednesday, September 3rd from 7 – 9 p.m. Prayers will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. GREGORY THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH (194 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa) on Thursday, September 4th at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. John the Evangelist Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Shepherds' Trust would be appreciated.
