DENNISPORT – Marie R. "Chic" (Paciello) Walden, 77, formerly of Worcester, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Cape Cod Hospital after a long battle with COPD.

Marie is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 53 years, Leo R. Walden. She was predeceased by her brother Angelo "Butch" Paciello and leaves behind his wife Dorothy and their children, Mark Paciello and his wife Stacey, and Kara Paciello and her fiancé George Constanza, all of Florida.

Marie also leaves behind her brother Francis J. Paciello, his wife Barbara, and their children, Rachel (Paciello) Neville and her husband James, and Louis Paciello and his wife Lyra, all of Martha's Vineyard. She is also survived by her sister Lisa Paciello Reece, her husband John Reece, and their son Anthony of Paxton. In addition she is survived by her sister in law and brother in law, Doris and Stephen Mazzola of West Falmouth.

Auntie Chic was devoted in life to her great nieces and great nephews Lilly, Julia, Louis, Leo, and Rosalie Neville, Alexyss Paciello, and Vinny and Frankie Paciello.

Marie was born in Worcester on August 31, 1936 to Ida L. (Giuliano) and Louis R. Paciello. She graduated from North High School in 1953 and worked at Norton Company for 31 years. Marie started in the clerical pool and worked her way up to supervisor of the Grinding Wheel Division. After retirement Marie worked part time at Spellane Auto Body and Insurance Marketing Agencies. Chic and Leo moved permanently to Cape Cod in 2000, where they enjoyed their retirement years. Chic wanted it known that many years of cigarette smoking and the resulting complications of COPD greatly impacted the last years of her life.

Per Marie's wishes, there are no calling hours and interment is private. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass at St. Bernard's Church, 228 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:15 am. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial donations may be made to the or the .
