Marilia Pereira Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 19, 2016.

Marilia Filomena Pereira, 56, of Cary, formerly from Goa, India, was called home to the Lord on October 19, 2016.

She was born on March 24, 1960, one of five children to the late Marcelino Lopes and Gloria Lopes. She married the love of her life, Leo Pereira, on August 23, 1984 in Muscat, Oman. The two celebrated over 32 years of blissful married life and had three children. As a registered nurse for over 35 years, she dedicated her life caring for and touching peoples' lives all over the world. She had the brightest smile and brought joy to all those around her. She will be missed dearly, but Heaven has gained the most wonderful angel.

She is survived by her loving husband, Leo Kenny Pereira; son, Kevin Gregory Pereira; daughters, Alysia Eulalia Pereira and Alethea Elvina Pereira; mother, Gloria Lopes; brothers, Victor, Gabriel, Cyril; sister, Eliza Lopes; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A viewing will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home in Apex.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the tremendous support from family and friends.

My deepest condolences to Alethia and her family . While I didn't know Marilia personally , I have only ever heard wonderful things about her. I know all too personally the pain caused by the loss of a mother , especially when taken so young , and my prayers are with you at this difficult time.

My loving friend, my go to person, who stood by my side during my trials, your love n compassion knew no bounds. I will miss you much on this earth but I have the hope that I will see you on that beautiful shore when the roll is called up yonder. So this is not good bye my friend, but "au revoir" . Will always love you.

I was so very saddened to hear of Marilia's passing. I loved her, as everyone who knew her loved her. She was a wonderful example of pure joy and love
placed here on earth by God to show everyone around her how to best care for each other! She was my colleague and friend at Wake Med. She always ready to lend a helping hand, or guidance, and she was well experienced with her vast medical knowledge . Heaven has certainly gained the most wonderful angel, I agree! My heart and prayers are with those who are grieving over this loss. God bless us all, and give us peace.........Amen

A beautiful soul, full of love and faith, ascended to heaven, away from us, but closer to God, leaving loneliness and sadness.

A bright light in a dark world. Gone but never forgotten. Her laugh, smile, energy and compassion is given to only a few. God's angel called home. Until we meet again.
