Marilyn Albers, faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the age of 82. She was born on June 15, 1927 in Libertyville, Illinois to Benjamin Dall and Margaret Caldwell Dall. She met "the love of her life" Bill Albers at the University of Colorado in 1945, and they were married at St. Patrick's Church in West Lake Forest, Illinois in 1949. Bill's work in oil exploration took them throughout the United States and Canada, and eventually Houston, Texas. They were blessed with six children, to whom Marilyn devoted her life. Marilyn Albers, faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the age of 82. She was born on June 15, 1927 in Libertyville, Illinois to Benjamin Dall and Margaret Caldwell Dall. She met "the love of her life" Bill Albers at the University of Colorado in 1945, and they were married at St. Patrick's Church in West Lake Forest, Illinois in 1949. Bill's work in oil exploration took them throughout the United States and Canada, and eventually Houston, Texas. They were blessed with six children, to whom Marilyn devoted her life. Marilyn's hobbies included playing classical guitar, collecting antique telegraph insulators, Girl scouting, running, and sewing. She was an active member of the National Insulator Association, serving as the foreign insulator editor of Crown Jewels as well as president of the association and author of several books on insulators. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Nancy Smith. She is survived by her husband Bill, daughters Margaret and husband Dee Eomurian; Carol and husband Patrick Cantrell; Barbara and husband Tom Van Wart; Mary and husband Bruce Felkins; sons Mark and wife Cindy Ellen and Tom and wife Cindy Clare; 20 grandchildren: Daniel Metzenthin, Emily and Rebecca Cantrell; Adam, Mark, and Andrew Van Wart; Belinda (Van Wart) Effa; Byron, Stephen, David, Amanda and Amy Albers; Will, Clare, Hannah, and Nathan Albers; Anthony, Alexandra, Jonathan, and Caroline Felkins; and 5 great-grandchildren: Kale and Macy Van Wart; Bella and Jack Van Wart; and Caleb Albers. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, March 1, 2010 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home with a Scripture service at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 10:30AM at St. John Vianney Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, Texas; Father Troy Gately is celebrant. A private interment will follow in La Grange City Cemetery, La Grange, Texas. Memorial offerings may be given to St. John Vianney Church or to a charity of your choice.
