She is survived by her husband Eric, daughter, Donna Poveromo of Wilmington, NC, son Joe Tuccinardi (Cheryl) of Boise, Idaho and brother Frank Oppedisano (Fran) of North Babylon, NY. She leaves behind her six wonderful grandchildren, Cristina, Adriana, Christian, Joey, Anthony and Jamie who will miss her greatly. She was a wonderful “Grandma” in every sense of the word. Marilyn is also survived by three nephews, Michael and Danny Skinner, Jamie Oppedisano and many cousins.

Marilyn worked at Grumman Aerospace for 23 years and retired from there as head of Secretarial Services. She worked on the Lunar Excursion Module Program at Grumman, helping put our first men on the moon. She and Eric retired to Weeki Wachee in 1990 and both enjoyed golfing and retirement throughout the years.

She fought a gallant battle against breast cancer, never giving in and always putting up a great fight. Our family would like to thank her caregivers from HPH Hospice, especially Larry Jones, RN (Case Manager), Michelle Caruso (Home Health Aide) and Christine Adkins (social worker) who provided so much loving care to Marilyn and her family for the past year. We will never forget you.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, June 14th at 11 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Marilyn Bunzel to HPH Hospice. Please earmark them to be used for the Home Health Services Division of HPH Hospice. Online donations may be made at www.HPH-Hospice.org
