POTTSBORO- Marilyn Blankenship Hogenson, 82, passed from this life, Sunday, November 25, 2012 at her home.
Family will receive friends at Bratcher Funeral Home from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 27, 2012.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Georgetown Cemetery, Cemetery Rd., Pottsboro, TX 75076.
Marilyn was born Friday, November 7, 1930 in Denison, Texas the third of six children born to George Warren and Emma Wiest Blankenship. She married Hershel M. Hogenson on March 23, 1953.
She was a lifelong resident of Grayson County. She graduated from Denison High School and attended Southeastern State College. She was employed in the circulation department of the Denison Herald for two years, and then interrupted her career to raise a family. She was a devoted mother to her four children and after her husband death she was employed with the Denison ISD and retired.
She is survived by her two sons Hershel G. Hogenson of Pottsboro, Texas, Joel Hogenson and wife Rebecca of Denison, Texas; daughter Janey Hogenson of Pottsboro, Texas; sister Kathleen Dophied of Pottsboro, Texas; brothers George Warren of Austin, Texas, William Lee of Denison, Texas, Jerry Van of Irving, Texas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. & Mrs. George Blankenship; Sister Sarah E. Dye, husband Hershel Hogenson and son Dusty Hogenson.
