Published by Legacy Remembers on May 16, 2017.

Marion J. Sawicki (nee DuBlanica), 77, of Warren passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2017 after attending a Mother's Day celebration with her family. Born in Newark in 1940, Marion lived most of her life in Union. She graduated from St. Vincent's Academy in 1957, and worked as an office assistant at Love Pallet Co. and Patel Consultants. Marion was a devoted Catholic and taught CCD for over forty years at Holy Spirit Church. She was the loving mother of Adam Sawicki Jr. and his wife Michele of Hopewell Township NJ, and the cherished grandmother of Grace, Erik, Emilie and Christopher Sawicki. She faithfully visited friends and relatives in need, was an avid New York Giants fan, and attended Easter Vigil mass with Pope John Paul II in 2002. She was a soccer grandma, volleyball grandma, swim grandma and basketball grandma and never missed her grandchildren's games. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, May 22, 2017, 9:30 AM at Holy Spirit Church, 971 Suburban Rd, Union, NJ 07083. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Costume Hangers, a charity founded by her grandchildren (http://costumehangers.weebly.com/).

Marion was definitely one of the nicest people I have ever met. She spoke with love and pride about her family.I know who loved Coconut Custard pie, mashed potatoes and about Cornell. I will miss her very much.

Mickey and I always enjoyed meeting and talking to Marion about her grandchildren at the Antonelli Chiropracters. It was our way of keeping in contact with Adam and Michele. Our deepest sympathy to the Sawicki Family.

Marion was part of our family for the past 25 years. We will miss her so much. She will always be in our fond memories for her kindness, her ever smiling personality, her absolute faith in Almighty God, her unbelievable energy at whatever she was doing, be it work or putting Adam through MIT or looking after her grandchildren at all level. She simply had a great outlook for this Life. I believe God has a place secured for Marion in Heaven.

Rest in peace, Mrs. Sawicki. I'll never forget the times you brought us hot chocolate and blankets on cold football days way back in high school. Yours was always the first congratulations card, the first Christmas card. Your kind and sweet nature will live on forever in the hearts of everyone you touched.
