After several months of declining health, M.C. (Chris) Boner died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Hospice LaGrange, he was 82 years old. A native of Albertville, AL, Mr. Boner was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. V.F. Boner, Sr; three brothers, V.F. Boner, Jr., Charles R. Boner, W. Lee Boner; and by his wife of 47 years, Mona Smith Boner. He is survived by a brother, Donald H. Boner of Pelham, AL; and several nieces and nephews. After several months of declining health, M.C. (Chris) Boner died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Hospice LaGrange, he was 82 years old.

A native of Albertville, AL, Mr. Boner was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. V.F. Boner, Sr; three brothers, V.F. Boner, Jr., Charles R. Boner, W. Lee Boner; and by his wife of 47 years, Mona Smith Boner.

He is survived by a brother, Donald H. Boner of Pelham, AL; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Boner was educated in public schools in Alabama. He had college and University Degrees from Birmingham- Southern College, Birmingham, AL; Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN; and Emory University, Atlanta, GA. He did advanced academic studies at the University of Alabama, Jesus College, Wadham College, and Oxford University, Oxford England.

Mr. Boner taught English at Marion Military Institute for 18 years. He was the first Headmaster at LaGrange Academy, 1970 – 1973. He worked 20 years for the Callaway Foundation as Director of Coleman Library and of Callaway Educational Association. He had been resident manager at Bellevue since 2005.

A Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, LaGrange, GA with Reverend Allen Pruitt officiating. Entombment will be in the St. Mark's Columbarium. A reception will be held in the St. Mark's Parrish Hall immediately following the services.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mark's and LaGrange Hospice are requested.
