Marjorie Estelle Simpson Judd passed away at home at the age of 93 on January 27, 2018. She was born in Shreveport, LA on February 20, 1924 to Robin Clinton Simpson and Mary Dovie McCord Simpson. Marjorie graduated from Fair Park High School, Shreveport, LA in May 1941. She married Jearl Dean Judd, the love of her life, on May 29, 1941. She was a wonderful, loving wife, homemaker and mother. She was a lifelong member of Greenwood United Methodist Church, Greenwood, LA and an active member and secretary for TOPS Chapter 139, Shreveport, LA for 35 years.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sue Judd Ross and husband Lyle; sons, Gerald Wayne Judd and wife Janie; and David D. Judd and wife Rebecca; grandchildren, Ronald Norman and wife Sonja, Russell Norman and wife Serina, Sherry Gillespie and husband Joe, Angie Wellinghoff, Jennifer Patton and husband Paul, Kim Martinson and husband Jay, and David W. Judd and wife Alicia; great grandchildren, Gregory Wellinghoff, Dakota Norman, Christopher Tucker, Sarah Gillespie, Maddie Gillespie, Kaitlyn Norman, Ross Norman, Jessica Norman, Shelby Walker, Sierra Martinson and Luke Judd. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years; her parents; and a sister, Dorothy Scott.
A Visitation with the family will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Centuries Memorial. A celebration of life will be held at Centuries Memorial on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow the service in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Dr. James Hill, former pastor of Blanchard Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ronald Norman, Russell Norman, David W. Judd, Christopher Tucker, Gregory Wellinghoff and Joe Gillespie. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dr. P.V. Blanchard, Charles Philips and Randy Phillips. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
