Mark Stewart Quarles, Sr., 61 of Edwards, MS died from cardiac arrest on December 26, 2009. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 7:00 PM at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Quarles was born in Jackson, MS on August 25, 1948, the son of Bobbye Stewart Quarles Dubard and the late Ivy Lawanda (Nip) Quarles. He attended Provine High School, Hinds Community College and the University of Southern. Mr. Quarles served in the Army National Guard 116th Medical Unit and was employed for 25 years by MS Valley Gas Company. He loved the hunting, fishing and just being outdoors.

Survivors include his wife Sandra Quarles. His children, Jessica White (Adam) and Stewart Quarles (Amanda), children of Carolyn Moore Quarles. Five grandchildren, Sydney, Myra Brantley, Morgan, Briggs and Norah Katherine. A brother Clay Quarles and a sister Wanda Palma (Kent) of San Antonio, TX.
