Mark Cobb Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 25, 2015.

Mark Cobb passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24th, 2015. He was the son of the late Mark V. and Fannie Cobb. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Jane Cobb and sister, the late Bobbie Nix. He is survived by his son Steven Cobb and wife Sandra of Bradenton, FL, daughter Lisa Mills and husband Bob of Kennesaw, Ga and sister Marjorie Levesque of Roswell, GA. Mark has four grandchildren: Justin Mills, Mary Mills, Kelsey Cobb, and Lindsay Randow (husband Kyle).

Mark attended Georgia Tech, and began a long and successful 41 year career with Lockheed Martin. He ultimately retired as the Deputy Director of the C130 Program.

After retirement, Mark and Mary Jane were able to pursue their love of travel. He and Mary Jane set out on a journey to see all 50 states. They completed this quest in 2006 and also visited Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.

Mark was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was loved by all and will be truly missed by the people whose lives he touched. We take comfort in knowing he is in a better place.

A Memorial Service will be held at Winkenhofer Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Visitation will be held at 2:00 pm followed by the Service in the Chapel at 3:00 pm. Winkenhofer Pine Ridge, 2950 North Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, GA 30152.

Was out of town on date of service. Mark was a great guy. My prayers are with the Family. I will always remember him as an excellent prosfessional who respected all persons for what they knew and not the color of their skin. He was the best bridge parner i ever had.
