Marlette Cooksey passed away peacefully on 8/7/14, two weeks shy of her 73rd Birthday. Marlette was born on 8/20/41 to Frank and Florence Masters. She had one sibling, her sister Louise.
Marlette was married 42 years to James "Jim" Cooksey. When she was younger, she never thought she would get married and thought her calling was to care for her father and mother later in life. When she met Jim and he asked her to marry him she knew it was meant to be. They had a very special love and were also best friends who took great care of each other. It was very rare to see one of them without the other.
After marriage, she moved in to Valley Association of the Handicapped where Jim was a caretaker as both had a nurturing personality. They managed the center until it closed. In 1991 they moved to Venice, Ca. where Marlette's father lived and stayed there for the past 23 years.
Marlette is survived by her husband Jim, her sister Louise and her father Frank who is 107 years old. She was a favorite Aunt, a wonderful wife, a caring daughter and a special friend. She had a smile that would light up the room, a contagious laugh and a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Information on a Remembrance Service to celebrate Marlette's life will be posted in the near future

"Today, Aug. 20, we should have been celebrating her birth - instead we continue to grieve the loss of this loving woman less than 2 weeks ago. My Aunt..." Beth Williams (San Jose, CA)
