Marseilles Edward Bayer, age 85, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012. He was born in Menasha on February 12, 1927, the son of the late Elias and Lucy (Urban) Bayer. At the age of 17, Marsh enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II and served in the Pacific Theatre. Marsh married his wife, Doris Coonen, on August 5, 1950 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Menasha. Doris preceded Marsh in death on June 19, 1992. Marsh worked for many years until his retirement from American Can Company as an accountant. He bagged his first buck, a ten pointer, in 2005, at the age of 78.
