Marshall and I saw each other sporadically growing up. We reconnected when we met at Dry Creek Camp in the 2000's. He knew who I was, but I didn't recognize him at first. He reminded me that we were cousins and then I remembered him. We struck up a pretty good friendship and hung out quite a bit at camp.

After camp, I didn't see him again until some circumstances forced me to live in Beaumont for a few months in 2012. Those 6.5 months were rough, but having Marshall around definitely helped. We had very similar tastes in music, so we never got bored when it came to that and we were always rocking out.

One memory that sticks out is that a favorite band of mine had just released an album and I wanted him to hear a particular song from it. I plugged in my phone to his car's awesome sound system and we blared that song as loud as we could stand it. What I wouldn't give to be able to share more music memories with him. I'll miss you man.
