Mart Joner “Jim” Cox , 70, entered Heaven’s gate the evening of November 22, 2016 at his home in Lonsdale, Arkansas. He was surrounded by his love ones including his wife of 33 years, Laverta “Tootie” Cox who was by his side day and night through the good times and the bad.
Jim was born in Glenwood, Arkansas on January 9, 1946 to Hollis and Mary Cox.
He was a Vietnam Vet.
Greeting him in Heaven will be his father, Hollis Cox; mother and stepfather, Paul and Mary Thompson; father and mother in law, Andrew and Dottie Lacey; four sisters Patty Thompson, Barbara Phillips, Brenda Cox-Shell and Baby Cox; daughter, Donna Niklas; four brothers-in-law Riley Vaughn, Jerald Lacey, Thurman Lacey and Gary Lacey; nephew, Steven Shell and a niece, Teresa Phillips-Yates.
He is survived by his loving wife, Laverta “Tootie” Cox whom he married January 7, 1983; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Bill Frogge (Capefair, Missouri); son, Jessie Lynn Beasley; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Rick Dennis; daughter and son-law, Courtney and Derek Baise (all of Lonsdale) and a nephew who was like a son, Scott Callender. He will also be missed by five grandsons, seven granddaughters, thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Pall Bearers will be Brandon Beasley, Derek Houpt, Scott White,Charles Warford, Jared Ball, Joshua Blanton, Donny Willis and William Gaddis.
Visitation will be Friday, November 25, 2016 in the Chapel of Gross Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Gross Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Ten Mile Cemetery.
The family would like to offer their thanks to the following: VA Primary Home Health Team, Hot Springs Hospice, Gross Funeral Home, and his best friend of many years- Leonard Bryant.
