Mrs. Martha Ballard Jeffcoat, age 82, native of Covington County and a longtime resident of Mobile, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband, James L. Jeffcoat, parents, E. E. and Annie Laura Ballard, sister, Jewell B. Jeffcoat, brothers, John B. and Douglas Ballard. Mrs. Jeffcoat was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She retired after eighteen years of service as a Lab Technician with the State of Alabama Board of Health. Mrs. Jeffcoat is survived by her children; Max Kendall (Maria Gamboa), Gloria Jackowski (Gary), Cathy Jeffcoat and Beverly Whatley Read (Terrell). She is also survived by her brothers; Walter Ballard, Dewey Ballard (Georgia), Ray Ballard (Lee), Eric Ballard, ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will be held in Creola Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to your favorite charity. Arrangements under the direction of Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, Mobile, AL.
