Martha Sue Hobbs, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Thursday, December 01, 2016, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was born in Dixon, KY, to the late Aubrey and Lala McCoy.
She was active in Boy Scouts and with Blue Ridge Lutheran Church in Missouri. Martha was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Evansville. She worked 10 years for Hallmark, 15 years for Western Electric and as an Avon Representative for 35 years. Martha was a member of VFW Post 1114 Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed travel. She loved spending time with her grandson, nephews and nieces.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Hobbs; and sisters, Evadean Reisinger, Vertie Mae Wernike, and Agnes Powers.
She is survived by her son, Gerald Hobbs (Tawana) of Missouri; grandson, Christopher Hobbs (Deanna) and great-grandson, Dakota May, both of Lathrop, MO; special nephew, Don Powers (Paula) of Evansville, IN; great-nephew and Godson, Spencer Powers of Evansville, IN; and other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN, officiated by Rev. Martin Noland with burial in Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit 2-8 pm on Friday at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Route 261, Newburgh, IN, and 9:30 am until service time on Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Ms. Hobbs was a beautiful and very kind woman...enjoyed working with her for many years on the Avon orders.... condolences to all her family.
