Mrs. Coe taught me music and chorale singing for the three years that I attended WW Lewis Jr. High School. I know that she had no idea the profound effect she had on my life and the appreciation for music that she instilled in me. Her musical influence has remained with my throughout my life and I was doubly sad to learn of her passing, because I thought many times over the years of contacting her to tell her what she had meant to me and only now, when I did another search on her name, did I learn of her passing. Too little, too late. Martha had the great gift of making learning fun and I am sorry I didn't get to tell her so.

So sorry to learn that one of my very favorite teachers has passed away. I had Mrs.Coe at W.W. Lewis for three years, and enjoyed chorus so much. She was so much fun and we all loved her. She made learning music a joy. She talked often of her beloved Leo, and Mary too. My deepest sympathy to the family.

I went to WW Lewis Middle School when Miss Coe was the Music Teacher/. She was loved by most students and was young and full of life with the students. We did win lot of awards at chorus competitions in those years. My name was Judy McInnis at the time and now married , Judy Bunch. I just wanted to say our thoughts are with the family at this time. My Mom just passed away in Oct. this past year 2012 at 95years so I was blessed with her long life. Remember the good times and talk about those it will help sharing her memories.

Marty was a very sweet and positive person whom we've come to know as we visited a mutual friend, Agnes Hebert in the Golden Age Home. She was a lady who smiled a lot, loved a sense of humor, and had a great voice and singing ability. We were blessed for having known her. We will be praying for the family whom she loved. Mary, Gene and I remember our time in the choir as your Mom directed us. She was full of life and made our time in Holy Trinity Choir and sure pleasure. I think that is when the choir became a close knit community and a real love for each other. She will surely be missed. With all our Love
