Martha S. Hale, age 93, of Statham, GA, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013. She was the daughter of the late George and Newell Thomas Smith. Martha was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Hale; two daughters, Barbara L. Hale and Mary H. Cadier; and two brothers, Royce Smith and Joe Smith. She is survived by her son, Cal Hale of Statham, GA. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, on Monday, June 17, 2013 prior to the service. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 17, 2013 with the Rev. Richard Cathy Officiating. Burial will follow the service at Statham Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
