Martin M. Karabin, 79 of Napoleon Ohio, passed away June 4, 2014 at Henry County Hospital. Born on October 21, 1934 in Poland to Michael and Anna Opalinski Karabin. United in marriage to Mary Juanita Manning on September 8, 1962 in Johnstown Pennsylvania. Beloved father of Nita Roxane( Bill ) Virgin of White Lake MI, Martin Karabin Jr. of Phoenix AZ and Eric Karabin of Columbus Ohio, Grandfather of Lizabeth Virgin, Larissa Virgin, William Lars Virgin , Nicholas Karabin and James Karabin. Martin M. Karabin, 79 of Napoleon Ohio, passed away June 4, 2014 at Henry County Hospital. Born on October 21, 1934 in Poland to Michael and Anna Opalinski Karabin. United in marriage to Mary Juanita Manning on September 8, 1962 in Johnstown Pennsylvania.
Beloved father of Nita Roxane( Bill ) Virgin of White Lake MI, Martin Karabin Jr. of Phoenix AZ and Eric Karabin of Columbus Ohio, Grandfather of Lizabeth Virgin, Larissa Virgin, William Lars Virgin , Nicholas Karabin and James Karabin.
Preceded in death by his parents Michael and Anna Karabin.
Martin was a Captain in the U.S. Army. He was also a member of The American Legion Post 300 Napoleon Ohio, the Elks Lodge 929 of Napoleon Ohio and a former member of the Napoleon Rotary Club.
Martin was a Chemical Engineer and worked as Plant manager for Quaker Chemical Company in Pennsylvania for 15 years, he then was Plant Manager at American Shortening in Detroit for 5 years. He retired as Plant Manager from Universal Co Op Napoleon Ohio in 2000 after 30 years of service.
Martin was a wine maker with his own vineyard. He was a poetry writer, a gardener, and he loved to dance. He enjoyed get togethers with family and friends. He also enjoyed anything to do with wine tasting. He has won multiple ribbons at the fair.
Visitation for Martin will be held on Saturday June 7, 2014 at St. Augustine Church 221 East Clinton St. Napoleon Ohio from 10 a.m. till the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Father Dan Borgelt officiating. Military graveside rites will be accorded to Martin following the mass at St. Augustine Cemetery by the joint veterans post of Napoleon. Please make memorial donations to St. Augustine Catholic Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Walker Mortuary Napoleon Ohio.
