Obituary

Services for Mrs. Martus Grant Martin, 82, of Oxford will be Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at McCoy United Methodist Church with Rev. Debbie Hitchcock officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 at Gray Brown Service Mortuary. Mrs. Martin passed away Thursday in Oxford. Survivors include her husband V.M. Martin Jr. of Oxford, daughters Marcia Smith (Mark) of Oxford, Michelle Collum (Kyle) of Pell City, sons Vester M. Martin III (Sharon) of Anniston, Mark E. Martin of Birmingham, Michael G. Survivors include her husband V.M. Martin Jr. of Oxford, daughters Marcia Smith (Mark) of Oxford, Michelle Collum (Kyle) of Pell City, sons Vester M. Martin III (Sharon) of Anniston, Mark E. Martin of Birmingham, Michael G. Martin (Tracey) of Birmingham, grandchildren Lindsey Martin, Jayda Huckaby, Elizabeth Ray, Ann Turner, Matthew Keener, Samantha Blanchet, Kyle Smith, Jennifer Pennington, Jacob Martin, Adam Martin, Sophia Martin, Samuel Martin, Gabriel Martin, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Martin is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Ione Grant and a brother, James Grant.
Mrs. Martin was a native and resident of Calhoun County and a 1949 graduate of Anniston High School. She was a member of Gideon's Auxiliary, AT&T Pioneers, Carpenter United Methodist Church and was active in Scouting.
