Marvin W. Kettle, 74, passed from this life on Friday, July 25, 2014 in Odessa. He was born March 20, 1940 to Richard and Frances Kettle in Electra, Texas. Marvin married the love of his life, Betty Pearson on November 12, 1961 in Kermit. They were totally devoted to one another for 47 years until Betty passed away January 31, 2010. He worked as a construction superintendent for Texaco for 33 years until his retirement. He served as a helicopter crew chief in the army during the Vietnam era. He was a man who could do everything; no job was too big or too small. He was very active in his children's lives, from coaching baseball,...
Marvin W. Kettle, 74, passed from this life on Friday, July 25, 2014 in Odessa. He was born March 20, 1940 to Richard and Frances Kettle in Electra, Texas.
Marvin married the love of his life, Betty Pearson on November 12, 1961 in Kermit. They were totally devoted to one another for 47 years until Betty passed away January 31, 2010. He worked as a construction superintendent for Texaco for 33 years until his retirement. He served as a helicopter crew chief in the army during the Vietnam era. He was a man who could do everything; no job was too big or too small. He was very active in his children's lives, from coaching baseball, pulling horse trailers, through college graduation. He also enjoyed watching activities with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Frances Kettle, wife Betty Kettle, and brother Kenneth Kettle.
Marvin is survived by one son, Brent Kettle and wife Lynne of Round Rock, Texas; one daughter, Tonya Clark and husband Tommy of Odessa; one brother, Daris Kettle and wife Carolyn of Rolla Missouri; one sister-in-law, Sue Kettle of Odessa; 6 grandchildren, Taylor Clark Bell and husband Chris, Tyleigh Clark, Teagan Clark, Garrett Kettle, Mark Kettle and Logan Kettle.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 3-5 pm at Frank W Wilson Funeral Directors. A funeral service is planned for Monday, July 28, 2014 at 10:00 am at Frank W Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Matt Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Permian Basin Rehabilitation Center.
