I share Drenda Paulson's memories of confirmation classes in the basement of the old church.... and starting class every time by taking roll and asking for my (and everyone's) attendance at Church Service(s) and Sunday School the week before ..... and the practices for the Christmas Eve program with the booklets and songs ..... As Each Happy Christmas Dawns On Earth Again ..... Poy Sippi was a very small town, and Pastor Rastl was a major positive influence in my growing up there. I too saw him in 2007 at the 100th Anniversary of the Emmaus congregation, and I am grateful I had that chance and the chance to introduce him to my wife Barb. My thoughts go out to the entire Rastl family - Lois was closest to my age being only 2 years younger - still wonder where those people ended up. I did exchange Christmas cards with Pastor for several years and always enjoyed and valued the contents of his Christmas letters. He was truly a good and influential man of his faith.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Rastl family! Pastor confirmed me March 30, 1958 in Poy Sippi, WI and I have so many memories of the confirmation classes in the basement of the old church. One of my special memories is each Communion service when he would chant. Such Christian love, kindness and wisdom that he shared w/all! I was so blessed to see him again in 2007 when he & Mrs. Rastl came to Poy Sippi for the churches anniversary. I thank God that Pastor & his family were a part of my younger years!

My grandpa was an honorable and upright man. He set an example for me by living a life of faith and devotion and I will always remember him as a model Christian man. I trust that he now rests in the Lord's mercy.
