Although strong to the end, Marvin was called home to be with the Lord, Friday, January 25th, 2013. Marvin Edward Roth was born June 1st 1945 to Arthur Francis and Nina Mae (Franklin) Roth in Indianapolis, IN. He was the 5th of 8 children. Marv proudly served four years in the Air Force of which three were spent at Larson AFB and one at Binh Thuy AFB, Vietnam. After the service he married Merlene Kay Curtis and together they had two children, John and Charles. He attended Big Bend Community College, University of Washington and worked for Rossoe Energy Systems. After divorcing in 1981, Marv returned to Indianapolis. In 1993 to be closer to his children he moved to Seattle and returned to work for Rossoe, which was like a second home and family to him, until he retired in 2009. Afterwards he settled in Spokane, WA. Marvin loved his coffee, reading physics, science and US History books, looking for gold and roaming the deserts in Arizona, fishing, exploring the outdoors and most of all, spending time with his friends, family and grandchildren. He was known to be a kind man, loved by all, and was a tremendous grandfather to his three grandchildren, Matthew, Callie & Ben. Marvin is survived by his brothers, Kenny, Jerry and Don, his children, Charles & John, his grandchildren, Matthew, Callie & Ben and by numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 16th at 2pm at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Road, Spokane Valley, WA. Marvin was a proud member of the VFW, American Legion and the DAV (Disabled American Veterans). In lieu of flowers, he wished to have donations sent on his behalf to support the DAV. Donations could be sent to the DAV, VA Regional Office, 915 2nd Ave. Room 1040, Seattle, WA 98174 (payable to the DAV, Dept of WA).

"I was unaware until today that Uncle Marvin had passed away. I am so sorry I did not get to meet him. I am the daughter of his older brother Bill (William..." Patty Davis (Albany, GA)
