Marvin "Marv" C. Wasserman, 79 of Fremont, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Toledo Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born March 26, 1933 in Fremont the son of Harold and Isabelle (Riehl) Wasserman. He was a 1952 Fremont Ross graduate. Marv was also a Korean War Veteran. He was awarded: Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Stars and two overseas bars, United Nation Service Medal, Korean Presidential Citation, and a Purple Heart. Marvin "Marv" C. Wasserman, 79 of Fremont, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Toledo Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born March 26, 1933 in Fremont the son of Harold and Isabelle (Riehl) Wasserman. He was a 1952 Fremont Ross graduate. Marv was also a Korean War Veteran. He married his high school sweetheart and best friend Marilyn Gschwind June 11, 1955 and they enjoyed and cherished almost 57 years of married happiness. Marv was a mechanic by trade and worked at Garland garage in the 50's. Following that, he worked for Sandusky County Engineers for 32 years, retiring in 1998. He was a life member the VFW, Moose, and Eagles. Marv was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Wasserman of Fremont; daughter, Melissa of Fremont; sister Joyce (Richard) McCubbin of Fremont, sister-in-law, Donna (Frank) Hesselbart of Maumee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and Donald Wasserman. His wife and daughter will cherish his memory.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 29 from 2-8PM at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont. A Mass of Resurrection will be Wednesday, May 30 at 10:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont, with Rev. Michael Zacharias officiating. Memorials may be made to the family c/o the funeral home.
