Mary Alice Kidwell, age 81, passed away August 17, 2012, in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home from 5:30 to 7 PM on Monday, August 20. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 21 at Oakwood Baptist Church with Pastor Marcus Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Known to many as "Nana", Mary was born June 18, 1931 in Red River County, Texas. She married Quade Kidwell on March 4, 1950. Mary and Quade moved to Brawley, California early in their marriage. Mary worked for Bank of America for 30 years, retiring as a Branch Administrator. Mary loved to bowl, competing for over 50 years in leagues and tournaments in California, Nevada, Arizona, and Texas. Mary and Quade moved to Lubbock in 1993 to be close to their granddaughters. Mary was an active member of Oakwood Baptist Church.The family wishes to thank the Pastor and various members of the Church who were so much a part of Mary's life, especially those who made the last difficult months of her life better through prayer, cards, and visits. The family also wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Garrison Care Center and Covenant Hospital.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents,Henry and Lucy Eudy and by her sister, Callie Finley, and two brothers, Hubert and Howard Eudy. Her husband, Quade, passed away in 1993. Mary is survived by her son, Calvin, his wife, Sheila, and their children, Kelsey and Mary Margaret Kidwell.
