Frances Griffin, 91 of Columbus, Georgia passed away on August 3, 2017 at Columbus Hospice.
She was born on June 19, 1926 in Columbus, Georgia to the late John E. Rigsby and Mary Jane Rigsby. Mrs. Griffin is also preceded in death by her husband Ollie Griffin, Jr. Frances was a 1944 graduate of Jordan Vocational High School. As a faithful member of Epworth United Methodist Church of Columbus Mrs. Griffin was active in the Hands In Service (HIS) United Methodist Women. She loved and was loved by her church family. As a lifelong homemaker, Mrs. Griffin possessed a great sense of humor and was an avid reader, enjoyed cross word puzzles and created beautiful pieces of colored art.
Frances Griffin a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her three sons, Dennis W. Griffin (Mona H.), Glenn A. Griffin (Vicky F.), David L. Griffin (Elizabeth); her loving grandchildren, Kelei D. Griffin Sabatino (Jason) of Roswell, GA, Reagan L. Griffin Sauls (Trey) of Norcross, GA, Lindsey M. Griffin Woods (Tim) of Columbus, GA, Keri E. Griffin Robbins (Britton) of Cyprus, MA3 Nicholas O. Griffin (E3 Kimi) of The U.S. Navy; her loving great grandchildren, Alec J. Sabatino, Aubrey M. Sabatino, Griffin Sauls, Jackson P. Woods, Jacob O. Woods, Phinehas J. Robbins, Silas E. Robbins, and Abigail M. Robbins.
A funeral service will be held on August 11, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia with Reverend Tony Crosby officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening at Striffler-Hamby, Columbus from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
