Mary Jane Allen, 94, of Duluth, passed away January 16, 2014, at the Benedictine Health Center in Duluth. Mary Jane was born in July of 1919 in Virginia, Minnesota to Charles and Dora Bolf. She attended and graduated from Virginia High School in 1937. On October 5, 1941, Mary Jane married Ronald J. "Jack" Allen. She and Jack lived and raised their children in Duluth. She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, one granddaughter, Tammy Allen, two brothers, and three sisters. Mary Jane Allen, 94, of Duluth, passed away January 16, 2014, at the Benedictine Health Center in Duluth.
Mary Jane was born in July of 1919 in Virginia, Minnesota to Charles and Dora Bolf.
She attended and graduated from Virginia High School in 1937. On October 5, 1941, Mary Jane married Ronald J. "Jack" Allen. She and Jack lived and raised their children in Duluth. She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one granddaughter, Tammy Allen, two brothers, and three sisters.
Mary Jane is survived by daughters, Sandra, (Robert) Youngbauer of St. Charles, Missouri and Patty (Craig) Shogren of Duluth; sons Michael of Duluth and Thomas of Two Harbors; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was a loving, giving, generous wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Benedictine Health Center for their wonderful, compassionate care of mom.
Visitation: 1pm until the 2pm Memorial Service on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Bell Brothers Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home, 925 E. 4th St., Duluth with Father Brian Shultz officiating. Private family inurnment.
