On Sunday, March 29, 2015, Mary, a native Washingtonian, daughter of John N. and Dora A. Kiley, sister of John and Edward Kiley, passed peacefully at The Virginian in Fairfax, Virginia. She attended Dumbarton College after graduating from St. Cecelia's Academy in 1944. Mary married Ellsworth Martin Jennison, her next door neighbor, after he served in the Navy during WWII. Mary and Ell moved to Fairfax County and attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Falls Church. Her love for major league baseball in Washington dated back to attending Senators games at Griffith Stadium and continued to her last game, a no-hitter at Nationals Park to close the 2014 season. If the sport had been ready for a woman manager, she would have brought a World Series win to DC. Predeceased by her husband, Ellsworth, survived by her loving children, Kathryn Jennison Shultz (Francis Chen), Christine Jennings (David), Ellsworth Jennison, Jr., John Jennison (Bridget), Mary Alice Spivey (Peter), Carl Jennison (Tess) and Stuart Jennison (Pam), and grandchildren, Rachel (Dan Benn) and Kate Jennings, Jack, Madeline and Kaelin Jennison, Thomas and Lillie Spivey, and Amanda and Lauren Jennison, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mary loved animals including Gracie, her surviving pet. Visiting hours will be held at Murphy's Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22203, on Tuesday, March 31, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 3305 Glen Carlyn Rd, Falls Church, VA 22041. Interment to follow at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9902 Braddock Rd, Fairfax, VA 22032.

My heart is heavy with saddness. Mrs. Jennison was truly a blessing to all that met and knew her. I thank God for allowing me to be a part of such a wonderfully sweet woman's life even if it was just for a little while. May the Angels guide you home.

My deepest condolences to the Jennison family. I cannot even begin to recount the many kindnesses she showed me in the course of an association of many years that turned into a warm friendship. She was like family. I will miss her.
