Mary Louise (Fougerousse) "Foug" McDaniel Edelen, 96, passed away February 2, 2018. The daughter of the late Frank N. and Florence A. (Graf) Fougerousse, Foug was born April 1, 1921 in New Albany IN. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, this special lady's infectious smile and upbeat attitude touched everyone she met. Always the gracious hostess, her cooking skill was shared with anyone who visited and hands-on recipes have been passed down to grandchildren. We can't imagine the world without her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph McDaniel; son, Michael McDaniel; brother, Jack Fougerousse; and nephew, Frank Fougerousse.
Survivors include her husband, Robert H. Edelen; daughter-in-law, Debby McDaniel; former daughter-in-law and guardian, Mary Helen Edwards; grandchildren, Kelly Hayes, Tom, Jody, Shannon, and Erin McDaniel; 4 great grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.
Memorial Visitation from 10:30 am ~ 12:30 pm Thursday, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany. A Memorial Mass will be 1 pm Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, New Albany with private burial following in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated.

Absolutely the sweetest, kindest and most humble and loving person I have ever met. Foug and Bob were great neighbors and friends and she was my other mother' while we were neighbors. Her cooking was phenomenal. Her smile lit up the room. She was well loved and will be missed.
