Mary Louise Campbell Obituary

Mary Louise Campbell, 84 of Davenport, passed away Wednesday at her home in Davenport. Funeral services will be Monday, February 17, 2014 at 10:00 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mary was born September 9, 1929 in Davenport; the daughter of Louis and Ida (Hamann) Borgelt. She was united in marriage to Jim Campbell, Sr. on August 20, 1950 in Davenport at St. Paul Lutheran Church where they were members. She also belonged to the Women of the Moose, Elks Lodge and Isaac Walton League. She enjoyed bowling at 30 Lanes Bowling Alley where she had bowled for over fifty years and played on the Emeis golf league.

She loved playing cards, especially euchre, playing six days a week and could always find a game.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Jim (Marti) Campbell, Davenport; daughter, Sally (Bill) Lorber, Laguna Niguel, CA; Deborah (Dan) Gillette, Coal Valley, IL; Kevin Campbell and Cathy (Roger) Williams, all of Davenport and Marc (Ramona) Campbell, Huntersville, NC; grandchildren: Ryan, Whitney and Mallory Lorber; Jamie (Joanna) Campbell; Jen (Mark) Sissel; John (Victoria) Campbell; Joel Campbell; Susan (Tim) Robinson; Don Gillette; Ashley (Ryan) LePera; Lindsay (Barton) Bartling; Ben Early and Austin and Ana Campbell; great grandchildren: Jay and Julia Campbell; Emersyn and Cameron Sissel, Miles Campbell and Mia and Piper LePera; sister, Shirley J. Engelmann, Davenport and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 2003.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Mary. My mom and her went to school together and Sally and I went to school together. Just talked to her at the Village Inn a couple of months ago. She looked and seemed happy. May she rest in peace. Sincerely, Geraldine and Judy Jones
