Mary Edith Starcher McClung, 71, of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at home from a short illness.
Born on February 13, 1946 in Ripley, WV, she was the daughter of the late Robert Starcher and Edwin and Edna Folden Lohrey.
Mary was a member of Gum Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She worked for 32 years at the Putnam County on Aging. Mary enjoyed going to church, working, sitting on the porch enjoying nature, and being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her two children, Irmel Bruce McClung and Corrina Lynn McClung; and stepfather, Edwin Lohrey.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 53 years: Bill McClung; mother: Edna Folden Lohrey of Euclid, Ohio; two daughters, Tina Chaffin of Fayetteville and Patricia Bailey and husband, Rick, of Mineral Wells, WV; two step-brothers, Terry Lohrey of Ohio and Roger Lohrey and wife, Laurel of Ohio; one sister: Shirl Beggett of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, May 19, 2017 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Pastor Mack Canterbury and Pastor Ron Eagle officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the funeral home.
