Mary Irene Giangualano, 91, of Madison Heights, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at her home. She was the loving wife of the late Anthony John Giangualano.

Born on April 4, 1926 in Amherst, she was the daughter of the late William Durfey Wright and Mary Cash Wright.

Mrs. "G" was a homemaker and always enjoyed family and friends to share a meal with her. She was known for her great Italian and Southern cooking and entertained everyone until her later years. Mrs. "G" would entertain everyone with her stories of the past and she will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Dominick Giangualano; two brothers, Earl B. Wright and his wife Callie and Herman P. Wright; and three sisters, Marie Giangualano and husband Paul, Joyce Sellick and husband David, and Delores Sprouse and husband William.
Mrs. "G" is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Bonaccolta and husband John of Lynchburg; two grandsons, John Bonaccolta of California and Anthony Giangualano and wife Brittney of Staunton; one great grandson, Leo Boisnier of Bordeaux, France; daughter-in-law, Vickie LaPrade Giangualano of Goode; brother, Wayne Wright and wife Kaye of Madison Heights; sister, Jewel Lipscomb and husband William of Woodford; sister-in-law, Marie Glover and husband William of Wilmington, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family wishes to thank Priscilla Brooks for her kindness and care in looking after Mrs. "G" and a special thank you to her cousin, Pauline Ogden, who shared a special bond with her all through the years.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Rev. Paul Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
