Mary (Harvill) Martenson long time Golden and Wheat Ridge resident has passed.

Mary was preceded in death by her son Austin. She is survived by two children Priscilla and Helen as well as her Son In-Law (Calvin). She is further survived by six grandchildren Guen, Matt, Suzi, Jeff, Cella, and Sarah. She also had 4 great-grandchildren.

Mary pursued a lifelong love of music. She attended CU Boulder and UNC Greeley in music study. For years she played violin in the Golden Symphony Orchestra now known at the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra. She also played piano/key board for the Golden Rebekah Lodge and she taught private piano lessons. She also belonged to the Mt. Zion Eastern Star Lodge.

She was physically active all of her life. She was an avid tennis player winning awards in high school. She was a member of the Colorado Mountain Club during her CU college years. She belonged to several bowling leagues. Mary continued to enjoy hiking, tennis and bowling for most of her life.

She worked as an accountant/bookkeeper at the Golden Savings and Loan, the Golden State Bank, and GEICO insurance CO. And as a word processor at SERI (now NREL).

She was kind and generous and is greatly missed by her loved ones.

A Private Memorial service to celebrate Mary's life will be held in the future.
