Mary Ruth Stevens Adams, 62, of Hillsborough, NC, passed away on March 28th after a long brave struggle with cancer.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mary was born in Greensboro, NC to the late Jesse and Hazel Stevens. She met and married her best friend and lifelong partner, Marvin Adams, in 1963. Marvin and Mary raised a family and made a life by working hard together. Mary's work outside the home led her into the field of pharmaceutical packaging where she worked for Eisai, Inc. at RTP. She was a strong and compassionate woman who took care of everyone around her. She will always be remembered for her kind heart and will truly be missed by everyone she touched.
She is survived by husband Marvin Adams, children Timothy Adams and wife Jeanne, Angela Adams Lawrence and husband Martin, Chris Adams and wife Ashley, grandchildren Elijah Lawrence, Melyssa Larabie, Olivia and Nate Adams, great grandchild Izzebel Larabie and sisters Doris Webster, Christine Martinez, Ruby Brown and Bobbie Stevens along with many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Mom fought to the end. She didn't want to leave us, but she didn't have a choice due to cancer. She died Sunday morning while holding the hand of my father. She is at peace now. I love you mom and will miss you dearly.
