Mrs. Mary Shull Alexander, 85, a former resident of Weyers Cave, passed away Sunday afternoon, Jan. 13, 2013 at the Bridgewater Home. A daughter of the late Elmer A. and Loma Howdyshell Shull, she was born on Jan. 20, 1927 in Rockingham County. She graduated from North River High School in 1944 and had made her home in Weyers Cave since 1948. Mrs. Alexander was a member of the Fifth Street United Brethren Church in Staunton and the Mt. Solon VFW Ladies Auxiliary. On Feb. 28, 1948 she married Marion H. Alexander who preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 2005. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra A. Mrs. Mary Shull Alexander, 85, a former resident of Weyers Cave, passed away Sunday afternoon, Jan. 13, 2013 at the Bridgewater Home.

A daughter of the late Elmer A. and Loma Howdyshell Shull, she was born on Jan. 20, 1927 in Rockingham County. She graduated from North River High School in 1944 and had made her home in Weyers Cave since 1948. Mrs. Alexander was a member of the Fifth Street United Brethren Church in Staunton and the Mt. Solon VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

On Feb. 28, 1948 she married Marion H. Alexander who preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 2005.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra A. Crummett and her husband, Bill, of Mt. Solon and Debra A. Thompson and her husband, Dale, of Weyers Cave; three grandchildren, Catherine Salcedo, Sara Crummett and Matthew Thompson; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Cheyenne and Austin Thompson, Ash Salcedo and Candela Gomez Crummett; three brothers, Leo, Johnny and Leonard Shull, all of Bridgewater; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Anna Senger and Helen Shull and one brother, Otho Shull.

Funeral services will be held at Wednesday afternoon at 2:00, Jan. 16, 2013 from the Chapel of the Lindsey Weyers Cave Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Moyers officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 Wednesday, prior to the funeral service at the Funeral Home.
