Mary Bannick Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 16, 2010.

Meg Bannick, 47, of Spring Lake Heights, passed away Friday, August 13th at Jersey Shore Medical Center with her family and friends by her side after a long illness. Meg grew up in Spring Lake with a large family and lots of friends.

She began her career at a young age of 13 working at Jean Louise Candies in Spring Lake, NJ and eventually became owner in 1992. Meg was passionate about her job whether it was making the candy or making the customers smile. She touched everyone who met her with her generosity and warm heart that will never be forgotten. She loved helping everyone and giving as much as she could. Meg enjoyed spending time with her family, her dog Sandi, watching movies and playing cards. After defeating cancer, numerous surgeries and other health problems, she is known for being an amazingly strong, caring and positive woman, who will be missed by everyone.

She can now be reunited with her son Bobby, her parents Edward and Barbara Gunning and her sister-in-law Sherri Gunning.

Meg is survived by her husband Robert, her daughters Barbara and Brittany and loving cocker spaniel Sandigirl; sisters Tara, Kelly, Colleen, Tracey and Barbara; her brothers Dan, Mark, Brian, Sean and Michael; nieces Barbara, Catherine, Jenny, Julia, Samantha, Tomi and Nikki; nephews Matthew, Chris and Mark; step-mother, Diane and mother-in-law Joan Bannick.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 9pm at Neary-Quinn Funeral Home 39 South Street Manasquan, NJ with a Memorial Service at 8:30pm.

The girls and I cannot express how sorry we are for your loss. We love Meg; she was a second mother to Jackie and Kim for many years. Jaime is ever grateful for Meg's support during her college years. We miss the old times - the wonderful years while the kids were growing up, the shared trips and parties. Please take comfort in knowing that Meg is at peace and will continue to provide love and support to you from her new place in heaven.

Love to you all,

Patty, Jaime, Jackie and Kimmy
