Mary and Dalbert are back together again. Dalbert returned to his Heavenly Father on January 30, 2002 and has been patiently waiting since then. We often spoke of this and Mom would laugh nicely as we all knew Dalbert was not the most patient person!
Mary was born in Jones County, Texas on September 21, 1021. She grew up on a farm, learned to work hard from her parents, Roscoe and Cornelia Greenway. Mary was very proud of the fact that she and her sister Carolyn could do anything better than her three brothers, except pick cotton where her brother Whit was the star. Mary and Dalbert married on June 28, 1942 during the first part of WWII. Dalbert served his country and Mary waited on the farm for his return. Upon his return, they moved to Borger, Texas where they raised three boys, Bert, Royce and Joe. After the boys were in school, Mary returned to college, earned her teaching degree, and began teaching. She was most proud of the fact that all her family, including Dalbert, earned college degrees. May and Dalbert retired beside peaceful LBJ lake in Granite Shoals, Texas and lived there until Dalbert went ahead.
Mary left this life on October 19, 2012 to return to her Heavenly Father and Dalbert. At the time she was living in Spanish Fork, Utah with her son and his wife. Mary enjoyed 91 years surrounded by family and friends. Mary's son Joe passed away March 2, 1990. Mary is survived by two sons Bert (wife Christy) of Dallas, Texas and Royce (wife Cookie) of Spanish Fork, Utah and four grandchildren: Joe, Randy, Daniel and Gina.
Funeral service will be at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, Marble Falls, Texas Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park, Burnet, Texas, right next to Dalbert and Joe.

I just received a copy of your mother's obituary, Bert and Royce. I wasn't aware that Joe had passed away either. You may not remember me very well, but Karen Baldree and I were the best of friends. We still are. I'm really sorry to learn of your mother's death, but I know that she and Dalbert are happy together now. I have lost both my parents too. My daddy (Cecil) in 2002 and my mother (Ada) in 2009. I miss them both, but I know we'll all be together again one day. God bless. Sandra (McCarty) Mayfield

Bert and Royce and families,
We are so sad to hear about Mary's passing. She always had time for the kids next door. She loved us all like a second mother. We will always be grateful for that. We love your family like our own.
May God bless and keep you all. May you feel God's presence and comfort.
We love you!

Dear Bert and Royce: I have just read about your mom in the Borger News Herald and I am very sorry for your loss. Your mother was always a special person in my life. During all the years we lived next door to your family, you all were very special to us. I am currently living in Independence, Kansas, with my daughter, Cindy Facker. I had a fall at home several months ago and am now living with Cindy and her husband Mike. We think of you often. I am so thankful for the good neighbors you always were. May God bless you and your families and once again I want to extend my deepest sympathy to you all. Love - Jean Coleman

I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Barron in a professional capacity, and was always touched by Mary's devotion to her husband. I have tried to model my own marriage after theirs. She has been and will continue to be missed by me, as well as Dalbert. Theirs seemed to truly be a match made in heaven, and I miss them both, but am happy that they are together again. I loved visiting with Mary at Hearthstone. She was a spitfire! One day after lunch, someone said "hey come here" in the kitchen, Mary turned to me and said "if someone said hey to me I'd tell em' hay is cheaper than corn."
Mary made the world a brighter place. I'm thankful she's back home in Texas. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Mary Barron was truly "one of a kind"...a remarkable woman in every sense of the word...a devout Christian, devoted Mother, stellar member of her community and a loyal and steadfast friend. She led by example and always "walked her talk". The world is a better place because of the lives she touched and lessons she taught. She blessed me with a unique friendship that endured over 45 years. It encompassed a deep love, lots of laughter, talking for hours on end and exploring every antique shop we could possibly find. She took great pride in her family and her dream home on Lake LBJ which she adorned with lovely antique furniture, magnificent lamps and gorgeous cut glass. And, when she set a table, it really "popped" because she used all her crystal just as she did her every day dishes. Most people just look at and admire such finery but Mary truly enjoyed, used and took great delight in the stories behind each piece. In addition, she was an outstanding cook as her family, friends, church members and neighbors can attest. If you ever ate a piece of Mary's pound cake, you know what a little slice of heaven really means! Caring and sharing were just two of many attributes that made her so endearing to me. Through the years, we maintained a common prayer list...each praying for the other every night. When God took Mary home gently, mine were answered. After she gets settled and gets things organized, I'm hoping she'll be able to sneak me in! Herein, I honor her memory, celebrate her life and offer my heartfelt sympathy to the entire family. Take comfort in a life well lived. Love & prayers, Barbara Barron

Royce, it has been a long time since we were in school, but when I read your mom's obit in the Borger paper I wanted to extend my sympathy. Your mom was quite a bit younger than mine. I remember her. It showed that she had been living with you, so I assume you will miss her even more. May God bless you and your family with His peace. Peggy Alexander Hobbs
