Mary Ellen Buchanan (August 1, 1925-April 5, 2014) Mary Ellen Buchanan Beesting passed away on April 5th at the grand age of 88. She had a strong marriage, seven kids and 26 grandkids, and she knew the birth dates of every one of them. A truly adventurous spirit, she traveled the world, visited every state in the Union, rode camels in Egypt, jumped from a plane at age 77, crash landed in a hot air balloon at age 78 and had to hike out of a cow pasture in Park City, Utah. Mary Ellen Buchanan (August 1, 1925-April 5, 2014)
Mary Ellen Buchanan Beesting passed away on April 5th at the grand age of 88.
She had a strong marriage, seven kids and 26 grandkids, and she knew the birth
dates of every one of them. A truly adventurous spirit, she traveled the world,
visited every state in the Union, rode camels in Egypt, jumped from a plane at
age 77, crash landed in a hot air balloon at age 78 and had to hike out of a cow
pasture in Park City, Utah. She flew in an ultralight. She went white water
rafting more than once, the latest when she was 75. She camped with her pregnant
daughter at Yellowstone in the snow and rain with no padding on the ground. She
loved music and loved to dance, loved her family, was open-minded and tolerant
and well ahead of her time politically and socially. She left this world on her
terms, just as she lived her life. Her family is so pleased she died quickly and
painlessly, living independently right until the end. Mary Ellen is survived by
her seven children and their spouses Bill Beesting (Adis), Tom Beesting (Adri),
Jim Beesting, Dennis Beesting (Patti), Karen Stewart (Cliff), Scott Beesting
(Annette), and Janet Nelson (Kevin), as well as her many loving grandchildren
and great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Beesting.
