Mary Kathleen Bourgeois, 94, born in Canton, MS, February 24, 1919 passed away on November 23, 2013. Mary grew up in Baton Rouge, LA, and earned a Bachelor's Degree from LSU followed by a Master's Degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri. During World War II, she worked for the government in Washington, D.C. After the war, she began her career as a journalist by writing for _____________magazine. Mary Kathleen Bourgeois, 94, born in Canton, MS, February 24, 1919 passed away on November 23, 2013.

Mary grew up in Baton Rouge, LA, and earned a Bachelor's Degree from LSU followed by a Master's Degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri. During World War II, she worked for the government in Washington, D.C.

After the war, she began her career as a journalist by writing for _____________magazine. In February of 1951, Mary began working for the Max H. Jacobs public relations agency in Houston. Several years later, she began working for the Institute of International Education, one of the world's largest and most experienced international education and training organizations, in the Public Relations dept. In addition to her successful career, Mary enjoyed travelling, painting, reading, and birdwatching. She was also an active parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and loved attending Bible Study classes there after her retirement. Mary was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Mary was known by many during her long life, and loved by all.

She is survived by her brother, George Bourgeois; her sister, Katherine Burda; her sister-in-law, Laura Bourgeois; and numerous nieces, and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Warren Chapel at St. Dominic Village, 2401 Holcombe Boulevard on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 10:30 am, with a visitation starting one hour prior at 9:30 am.

Mary will be interred in the Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, LA.
